The Department of Education and Skills is regularly updating its information for schools, preschools and third level institutions on Covid-19 and is also providing updated information from the Department of Health and HSE Health Protection Surveillance Centre following a meeting of the National Public Health Emergency Team.
As further advice or information is provided, it will be issued to schools and posted on the Department’s website and we will try and include it here on Schooldays.ie where possible.

23/02/21 - The Government has announced the plan for a phased return to school as follows:
1st March
Junior & Senior Infants, 1st & 2nd Class and Leaving Cert students return to school
15th March
Target date for 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th class primary students and 5th year secondary students to return to school
12th April
Target date for remaining secondary students - 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th years to return to school
8 March
the ECCE Programme will reopen for all participating children
29 March
subject to public health advice, other restrictions will be lifted so that all other children can return to early learning and childcare services

€375 Million plan announced to support re-opening of schools
The Department website advises that Public health doctors are available to liaise with schools and advise on precautions if staff and/or students have any concerns.
The Chief Medical Officer from the Department of Health, Dr Tony Holohan, has issued the following following letter to parents of school children travelling from affected regions.
